hmm... i haven't updated in a long time... this is only my first post in March, but then again, i dun have much postings anyway.

i'll start from last friday, when the A level results are released. tjc really did well in terms of percentage distinctions, with percentage increases that brought the results to a five year high. however, our top students only have 7 distinctions, unlike the nearby jc (the one with the letter 'v', not 'm' =P) which has 9 distinctions. somehow i love to compare our results with that of the nearby jc, but then i think we are not really at the same level as them. dunno how zhiyuan did for his A levels, didn't see his name in the 3/4 distinctions name list posted at the vjc website.

on a personal note, i got A1/distinction in oral for AO chinese, something "not surprising" as chen yu puts it. i do worry for my chinese A though, cos i feel that my chinese teacher is really kinda slack and doesn't prepare us enough in terms of language. literature wise, it's more about the memory work. but i also won't like it if she gives more work to me of cos. i would like to see on the powerpoint slides next year when receiving my results that %AB in chinese A is 100%.

monday was the last swimming PE i had in tj, or more exactly, the last time i had to rush like mad to go to the swimming complex by 7.20, which i never do.

tuesday i went for CO on time, no more maths S for me, hooray! but the big drum was being lent to PA for their upcoming concert this saturday (which i can't go sadly), so i came only for the sectionals with mr shen. he's a nice man who have many stories to tell once he has the chance to say them. haiz, if i have known him in secondary school, i would have learnt from him since then.

yesterday we had a learning journey to the central narcotics bureau, but in fact we were only brought into a meeting room and sat there listening to a powerpoint presentation throughout the time there. nothing really new and interesting about drugs, i think the speaker's own stories were more interesting. there were snacks prepared for us, i think the ISD (internal security department) should really learn from them. the question and answer session surprised me as many questions were asked. all of us left with a water bottle too, but all good things must come to an end. we learnt that there was no return bus trip, so we had to find our way home. poor mr ho doesn't know this also i think, so he had to take taxi back to school.

today was chem SPA skills B & D involving recrystallisation. ms wong was surprisingly helpful as she walked around the lab, telling us what we had done wrong and what we should do. in the end, i was constantly asking for her opinion as i dun want to lose out to the people whom she helped... haha. i didn't feel too good after smelling so much ethanol though. but i felt better after i went for the sterling lecture which was directly after SPA. the angmoh speaks in a clearer way than mr chan although with a heavy accent. the topic was about vibrations and the real life video clips during the presentation were the most interesting. imagine walking on a shaking bridge?

i must study for my maths test now... bye.
