i dun feel too much about chinese new year this year. in fact, i didn't even step into chinatown at all this time; oh i'm so busy.

CNY eve - i really dunno why i'm in school that day. we were there for the sake of being there since we didn't organise anything like eating in the canteen etc. later i went to buy some "last minute stuff" that my mother forgot to buy and went home. then i went to bugis to watch constantine, which i'm pleased to say that this will be the most LAN show of the year. very LAN. dunno why i was in the cinema since i was not even interested in looking at keanu reeves. so i went home and before long it was time for the reunion dinner, which consists of just my parents and me, ever since my grandma died. didn't watch much of the CNY countdown show on ch 8, but i did unfortunately watch the rather lame "passing of beer into a large measuring cylinder" game. i switched over to ch 49 Asia Plus and it was broadcasting china's countdown show, which i can even call it a parade. i read the papers before and it said that this CCTV's annual show can have ratings of 90% in china. WOW. some of the songs sang were indeed very ... communistic. although not too much really just that the lyrics were all like telling youngsters to work hard for the country, blah blah.

CNY Day 1 - i set an alarm at 9.30 am so i that i could catch the LIVE telecast of the Amazing Race at 10 on AXN. muahaha... that's a good 12 hours earlier than non-cabled homes. anyway kris and jon didn't win... which is not too surprising since the most well-liked team (they got a popularity rating of 92% on CBS.com) never seem to win during the final leg. but at least they got 2nd, and plenty of holidays since they won dunno how many "first places" throughout the entire race. they are really a great couple, not quarelling and supporting each other always, i think everyone wants to be like this model couple.

since my grandma died, the only people to come to my house on day 1 are my father's sisters and their family. one of my cousins is the same age as me, currently also in tjc year 2. then it's slacking throughout the day, and i watched spider-man on AXN at night. how boring... because my father is too lazy to go around visiting since he sold his car.

CNY Day 2 - i went to visit my grandpa's sister (my xiao gu po) as she is our closest "old" relative since my grandma died. this year was a bit special as i went there for lunch and also for exchanging of gifts/angbaos. my parents will always give bak gua and abalone while she will give us homemade pineapple tarts plus some goodies.

then i went home to wait for my mother's brothers and their family to come. the eldest uncle's family is vegetarian and has two sons, one of which is the same age as me who is also from VS but now in nyjc. the third uncle has a son and a daughter, the former in chinese high and the latter in cchs(m). so it's obvious my third uncle and aunt cares about their children's education A LOT. these cousins of mine always liked to play on my computer, but sadly my computer has no games to offer them, other than some slightly older pirated games that i haven't even played before -__-". they were not interested in my 1500k broadband =P. it was dinner time and we proceeded to dinner at a vegetarian restaurant.

it's 9 pm already but my father insisted on going to visit his elder brother. so off we went and stayed there shortly. again we gave bak gua and abalone. so u see, being a relative of mine has advantages, especially if u are more elder.

awww... the holidays end so soon and i need to go back school tomorrow. that principal was so helpful to remind us on CNY eve that we have school on friday. argh.
