there was nothing significant during thursday and friday and today. i was indeed quite bored at home, always staring at the computer. wadever happened to the 101 things i wanted to do when i was studying for the promos? looks like i should have made a list then so that i will know what to do now.
the library grp leader called on thursday to ask whether i would like to go for an enrichment activity. it will be a trip to chinatown and a museum around there on 19 Nov. of cos, my immediate reaction will be: are hours counted? dun blame me for being so blunt. blame on the library itself. anything that they organise will be counted as service hours, e.g. camp, an unnecessary "extravagant" library investiture and time wasting general meetings, to ensure attendance. i really dun think such things provide service to anyone. sadly, i will just have to conform and get my 4 service points at the end of it. argh.
anyway, the obvious answer was no, i will not go since hours will not be counted. she really doesn't how to promote events. or perhaps, there's nothing to promote in the 1st place. maybe the "enrichment activity" is not even free. haiz, i really dun understand how a trip to chinatown has anything to do with library. even orchard road has a national library. chinatown doesn't.
then the grp leader smsed me on friday, wanting to know my reasons for not going. i wanted to be evil and just reply her that since hours are not counted, you have no right to intrude into my privacy and i have no need to tell you my reasons, if there's any. it's obvious there's nobody going and perhaps the library man wants the comm to account for it. so i conveniently replied i have a chalet and to top it up, remind her to call me if the library man decides to count hours in a desperate attempt to have people going. the truth is that i do have a chalet on that day, which is to celebrate my cousin's 21st birthday. dun think i will have one like this next time though.
2 weeks of holidays passed already. quite scary, to think of it. it's really boring to stay at home, unless i start on my holiday homework. -_- this is one holiday that is quite important... it's a good time to consolidate what i've learnt in year one and prepare for more rigorous work next year. oh my, do i sound like rita wong? =P
